The January party was the start of FLOG's 5th year. And what better way to start the new year than to have a new piece of equipment, a new HOT night, and LOTS and LOTS of new people? Our Dungeon Masters put their heads together and developed the Bondage Institute, a series of classes for those interested in learning more about the seductive art of rope bondage. Since tonight was the inaugural class, Master Robert covered the basics and started with the two basic knots used in bondage, the square knot and the overhand knot. The class was well attended and well received.

The night also saw the unveiling of the group's new cross. Constructed by Master Tony, it is truly beautiful to see-hardwood beautifully stained, adjustable for all heights and with lots of attachment points. It is a wonderful addition to the group's equipment.

Did we mention LOTS and LOTS of people?? January was a record month for the group with over 150 people in attendance-lots of new people and many returning friends...definitely a high energy night to start the New Year.

The evening started with what we hope will become an annual FLOG event-FLOG's first Fetish Flea Market (you try saying that three times fast!) and our first effort was well-received and attended. The group opened the Hall early to anyone that wanted to bring their extra or now unwanted toys, clothes or equipment to trade or sell.

The regular social started at 8pm with an early celebration of Mardi Gras. And what a celebration it was... masks, beads and feathers everywhere. And what would Mardi Gras be without a King cake? We had two for the evening, with a feast fit for a king. The evening ended with all pieces of equipment being used and lots of happy smiles.

The second session of the Bondage Institute started this month's social/play party. Master Richard focused on more advanced knots to be used in a bondage scene. Each session of the Institute is designed to add to the last one with the goal of getting ready for a full weekend of classes with Fetish Diva Midori in September. Adding to the excitement of the night was the return of Ms. Velvet-one of the founding members of the group and the owner of Achella Toys. Ms. Velvet brought some of her inventory to show the group and offered a discount to the group. In addition to her wonderful toys, Ms. Velvet brought her sense of humor and wonderful insights into WIITWD.
