FLOG held two events in July. The first, was what we hope will become an annual tradition - a float trip down the Current River. Nine hearty souls enjoyed a relaxing day on the river in canoes and kayaks. Afterwards, we all got together to cook and enjoy a great meal and for an evening of play (for those who stayed awake). Those that went are already planning next year's event and hope that more will join us.
Later that month, our regular play party was held on July 27. Those attending, both new and old to the group, were treated to a particularly memorable night of play with a scene involving "messy play" with two Doms, two slaves, spaghetti and other messy foods and substances. (And Mother used to say, "Don't play with your food!"). In addition, two SAM's found themselves bound together and suspended from the frame for a good flogging. All in all a good night for all.
August brought a very special guest teacher to the group. Michael, from Chicago, joined us in a HOTS night class on the use of a single tail whip in a scene. The evening started with his hands-on, interactive class in which approximately 30 people attended to learn and practice whip techniques. Those attending who didn't have their own whip got to try out new whips supplied by our Dungeon Master, Rich and the maker of the whips, Axel. The class was fun, boisterous and for those of us on the receiving end, a little stingy. There's nothing like the sound of a whip cracking to get everyone's attention and there were several scenes later that night where the class technique was put to good use. The evening also marked the beginning of "school" and several "school girls" were in attendance for the night....something about short plaid skirts and rulers. In addition to all of this, we were fortunate that night to have the loan of a new cross - designed and built by one of our group. It was a beautiful piece and we look forward to next year when he will make one we get to keep. Overall there were over 80 people in attendance this night, and everyone seemed to find something they could enjoy.
Nearly 80 people enjoyed an evening of socializing, information and play this night as the group held its regular monthly play party. We welcomed several new people and some that had returned to the group after an absence. The evening opened with a Q & A session for those new to the group, new to the area, and/or new to the lifestyle. These evenings are a great way to meet the new people joining the group and for those who have been around for a while to give back to the group. After the initial announcements about the upcoming Halloween party and a new event in the planning stages, the dungeon was opened for play with five pieces of equipment getting good use. We had basic flogging scenes, a wax play scene and a very nice whip scene.
